FITNESS LEVEL

This itinerary is not recommended for persons with reduced mobility.

All of our tours require a reasonable level of fitness. Every traveller on our tours is required the ability to walk around sights on uneven surfaces in both urban and rural / mountainous areas unaided. You'll be getting on and off coaches and boats, walking around the sights and climbing some steps.

Please read our itinerary carefully for outline of fitness level to help you select the right holiday for you.

GROUP SIZE

Our Small Group Tours are guaranteed to depart with a minimum of just two guests.

Our group size ranges from only 2 to 16 people. This means less of your precious time is wasted waiting for others, allowing you to have more time to enjoy your holiday.

For group tours with 10 travellers or more, in addition to the tour guide, we will provide a dedicated tour director (free of charge) who will escort the tour from the beginning to the end.

BOOKING CONFIRMATION

After purchase, you will receive a Booking Confirmation and Passenger Information Form by email. Within 24 hours of purchase you need to send us a copy of your passport together with your Passenger Information Form.

After purchase, you are required to make a deposit or full payment for your order. Please note most of our deposit is non-refundable. Please check your booking and your invoice for the Terms and Conditions which apply specifically to your booking.

  • Any special requests, preferences MUST be clearly stated in your Passenger Information Form
  • Any change requested after submitting your Passenger Information Form cannot be guaranteed, is strictly subject to availability and will incur surcharges

SAFETY NET PROTECTION

Safety Net Protection is not included in our tour/cruise packages. If you wish to purchase safety net protection, an additional fee of $105 per person will be incurred. This is only valid for a one-time use (claim).

Safety Net Protection enables passengers to amend their tour and/or river cruise 15 days prior to departure, to another tour/cruise to the same destination, departing in the same year (once only) without any applicable cancellation charges or penalties.

The new tour/cruise must be at the same cost or higher but cannot be at lower cost than the initial cruise/ tour booked. If the passenger chooses the higher cost option, then the additional difference amount must be paid. However, no modifications shall be accepted less than 15 days prior to departure.

Importance notes:

  • Safety Net Protection is payable immediately at the time of making the deposit payment. Once purchased, Safety Net Protection is not refundable
  • Safety Net Protection does not apply for airfares or third-party fees and charges.
  • Safety Net Protection allows for amendment ONLY, not cancellation.
  • You will be responsible for all your personal belongings while on the tours. It is your responsibility to make sure your room is secure.

TIPPING

Tipping is not compulsory and is not included in this package. We believe that if you choose to tip, you should only pay for the service you receive.

In general, tipping is widely accepted as a way to show your appreciation of good service but is not compulsory. Tipping is expected and often makes up a large part of people's wages.

  • If you are happy with services provided by your tour guides and drivers, a tip is appreciated.
    - Recommended tips - For the guides and drivers - $6US per day per passenger.
  • If travel on a river cruises and happy with the services provided by your crews and service onboard.
    - Recommended tips - For the crews and guides - $10US per day per passenger.

LUGGAGE

You must carry your own luggage from/to the coach and to/from the hotel or cruise. The driver and his assistance will assist with the uploading/off-loading of your luggage.

All of our tours will include internal flights within the tour, which allow 20kg of check-in luggage and 7kg of carry-on luggage per passenger. A surcharge may apply for oversized/overweight luggage subject to the airline's policy.

Please note:

  • You will be responsible for all your personal belongings while on the tours/cruises. It is your responsibility to make sure your room/cabin is secure.
  • Tweet World Travel will not be liable for any loss or damage to your luggage or other personal belongings.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Our products DO NOT include Travel Insurance. Travel insurance is not included in our tours, cruises, day tours, private tours, group tours, transfers, and any of our packages.

For your protection, we strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance for your travel arrangements (without limitation) that include coverage for medical expenses, loss of luggage, cruise, land content and airfare charges that may occur.

You need to provide us your Travel Insurance details upon booking, or at least before 30 days prior to your departure.

If you do not have travel insurance prior to your departure, we retain the rights to refuse boarding/joining our tours or cruises. We might refund / provide travel credits for you, less any unrecoverable fees including but not limited to admin fees, visas fees, other suppliers’ cancellation fees. We won’t be held liable for any costs associated with this matter.

In the morning, you will travel to Nara to see the city's most famous landmark - Todaiji Temple. The immense temple hall was, until recently, the largest wooden structure in the world, and houses the massive Great Buddha of Todaiji. The temple is in a corner of Nara Park, which is home to over a thousand free- roaming, adorable Sika deer. These friendly creatures are protected by Nara, even recognized as an official symbol of the city. Stalls around the park sell special crackers to feed the deer, and some of the wild deer have even learned to bow when asking for food.

 In Osaka, you will spend some time in Dotonbori, a popular shopping, entertainment, and food district. It is known for the hundreds of neon and mechanized signs that line its streets. Our group will also stop by Shinasaibashi, one of Osaka's oldest shopping destinations.

Your luggage will be delivered to hotel in Kyoto.

So, please prepare a small bag for 1 night in Hiroshima.

You will visit Osaka Castle; whose construction began in 1583 on the ruins of the Ishiyama Honganji Temple. The castle was the largest of its time and played a major role in the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century.

Transfer to Shin Osaka Station.

Then, experience a Shinkansen bullet train ride, which can reach speeds of up to 320 km/hour (200mph).

Upon arrival at Hiroshima, move to Miyajima -guchi Ferry terminal where you will take a short ferry ride to the island of Miyajima.

At high tide, the famed vermilion torii gate of the Itsukushima Shrine looks like it's floating in the middle of the sea. The shrine complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Miyajima has been selected as one of Japan's three most scenic places (nihon sankei).

Overnight in  Hiroshima.

Today we will visit the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Museum

Then, take a bullet train to Kyoto.

Arrive at Kyoto Station, then make your way to historic Kyoto and the lovely vermillion-colored Fushimi Inari Shrine, home to an almost 2.5-mile-long (4 km) tunnel of scarlet torii gates that were part of the film 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. The shrine complex wraps around a bamboo forest that features a backdrop of picturesque mountains, streams, and ponds. You will then take part in a once-in-a-lifetime experience – tea with a Geisha in training, known as a Maiko. The Maiko will prepare your tea and show you the Japanese art of the tea ceremony. After, she will be happy to converse, answer questions, and tell tales about local life. (You'll stay two nights in Kyoto).

Today we will continue our tour of Kyoto, once the capital of Japan and still considered its cultural centre.

First is a visit to the Nijo Castle, built in the early 17th century. Ninomaru- goten, renovated in 1626, is a building renowned as a priceless example of the architectural style of that period. At the Nishijin Textile Center, you can view displays of kimonos and even watch a kimono fashion show. Visit the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) covered with 18 carat gold leaf. This three story structure was originally built by the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in 1397.

Next is a visit to Arashiyama to see Tenryuji Temple where you can have a glimpse of traditional Zen landscape garden design. Then proceed through a dense bamboo grove, past several small shrines, tea shops and private houses before arriving at the Togetsukyo Bridge over Hozu River. This area is also famous for their colorful autumn leaves.

Lastly, we will tour Gion, the old Geisha Quarter, and Pontocho, whose cobblestone alleys vibrate with night life.

Today your luggage will be delivered to the hotel in Tokyo by courier service.

Your morning is free for you to relax or do some last minute shoppping until your hotel departure time when you will be transferred to Kyoto Station and ride a bullet train to Shinagawa Station.

Upon arrive at Shinagawa Station, you will move to your hotel in Tokyo.

Today is a sightseeing tour of Tokyo. We start the day at the Imperial Palace, the former site of Edo Castle and current residence of Japan’s Imperial Family.

Afterwards, we will proceed to the Asakusa Kannon Temple, an active place of worship where you can see the largest paper lantern in Japan. You will also be able to explore the Nakamise Shopping Street. It is a traditional style shopping street. In the afternoon, we will visit Tokyo Tower, 333 metres high. You will take the lift up 150 metres to the observatory deck and get a bird’s eye view of the city.

Then, travel to Shibuya where you will be amazed by the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing -Shibuya Crossing.

This breathtaking day begins in Mt. Fuji at 5th Station

Journey to the lakeside resort of Hakone renowned for its hot springs.

Make a stop at Hakone Open Air Museum, is an outdoor sculpture gallery that plays with nature. Climb aboard the Hakone Ropeway, an aerial cable car for a breathtaking view* of Mt. Fuji.

* Depends on weather conditions.

Proceed to Owakudani, located in active volcanic zone.

Then, back to Tokyo. Overnight in Kyoto.


After breakfast assemble at hotel lobby and transfer to the airport.

Depart Japan for your next destination.
